Random Rules Playlist 040: PROTEST SONGS

A collection of my favorite songs of protest from all genres, from early folk music to present day anthems

Here’s a quick one just because I know we all need this right now, I’m sure I don’t have to explain why. Every time I listen to this playlist, I get inspired - it’s hard not to! It can also be a bit of an exhausting listen, with all of the generational trauma represented within these songs, so a bit of a trigger warning - maybe consider listening on shuffle mode in small doses.

Woody Guthrie is one of my all-time heroes, and I believe one of the greatest examples of the American spirit - he is well represented here. I’ll leave you with one of his most famous quotes - “ALL YOU FASCISTS ARE BOUND TO LOSE!!!”
